Greetings:  This newsletter is to update you on a few items of business that have been approved by your board.

Weekly Tournament:

1.  In future years for the month of September we will use your August handicap rather than your May handicap as has been the policy in the past.

2.  When the Friday cards are made up, the participants in each group will be listed on the card by handicap unless last minute additions or cancellations require change.

3.  We will attempt to mix walkers and riders within flights as best we can in order to afford everyone the opportunity to play with different players each week.

4.  Friday tournament play will pay more gross than net winners in the top 2 flights and more net than gross in the lower flights depending upon the number participating in each flight.  If there are large enough flights to award four places they will be divided equally.

5.  When calling or e-mailing to sign up for Friday play, please notify Lisa Moudry the tournament chairman at 494-3605 or moudry@swbell.net.  Lisa has the computer and is responsible for the pairings.

6.  We will post a list of the previous weeks winners on the table each week.

Shoes for kids:  At any time during the year you have golf shoes that you no longer plan to use you may bring them to Friday playdays and we will donate them to the junior golf programs.

Newsletter:  When you receive the newsletter via e-mail please make yourself a copy so that you will have the schedules and other pertinent information regarding SAWGA.  We are trying to save some money by using e-mail rather than mailing everyone a copy.  Please e-mail Ginger at golfer6774@yahoo.com with any comments or suggestions regarding this new approach.

Directories 2002-2003:  Directories are ready and will be distributed to the clubs to which you belong.  Please pick then up as soon as possible.  For those members who do not belong to a club, directories will be available on Friday playdays beginning Friday November 8^th.
