June 2005 Newsletter
By Jennifer Guidry

Hi ladies, well here I am writing my last news letter of the season. Where did it go? Tithe year has flown. Of course it's not quite over as we still have summer play Friday mornings.  Contact Jane Ward to sign up for this.

Our home course this year was Willow Springs and our Ringers Competition, Which, incidentally, I have just found out from Bay how it works. Being from England I had never heard the word ringer, well not in a competition anyway, It turns out it is what I would call a running eclectic, meaning each time you play the home course you try to better each individual hole until the end and then the net is calculated. Of course, the more you play the better chance you will have. Mary Lucas won the Championship flight 57 net, Dow Greenberger first flight 61 net, Karen Antis second flight 59 net, Shirley Watts third flight 55 net. Well done ladies.

Our home course for 2005-2006 will be Brackenridge, which I personally love playing, so I hope that this year I will be able to participate more than I did in 2004-2005 as due to personal circumstances I found it almost impossible to play.

The City Tournament was played in wonderful weather and the scores relayed this. Natalie Hocott is our new City Champion. Well done, Natalie with a three day gross of 215 and also well done to the Senior Champion Karen Ryan with a Gross 237. All the results can be found on our Website WWW.SAWGA.ORG

At our last board meeting, which was held June 20th, it was decided that the fall tournament would be better supported if it was a two day competition rather than three, and as we haven't spent as much as we allowed for in our budget then we will give out more in prizes as we think any surplus should go back to the members.Of course, it will depend on our membership next season. Ladies, dates for your diaries are Fall Tournament October 11th & 12th with rain day 13th so get ready to sign up.

The Tee off coffee will be at Barbie Winn's as usual. The address is 24 Winsbrook, Boerne, you take IH 10 north West until you reach St Johns road turn. Turn left over IH 10 on coach road. Barbie's ranch is just further down on the left double gates with horses on either side.It is not difficult and if I can get there anyone can, you will enjoy it lots to eat and drink!! Please remember, if you haven't already paid your dues Dana will be there to take your cheques $30.and bring along any new members or ladies that have shown an interest in joining, everyone welcome.

Well that's all for now see you all then,Jennifer
