Hi, SAWGA members,
My name is Karen Antis and I am your new president. We had our first
Board meeting on August 14th.
The Tee off Coffee at Barbee Winns will be on August 25 at 9:30
AM... Please come and invite your friends. We would like to
see a lot of new members. Directions to her house:
Take I10 West to Johns Road (just past Boerne). Turn left, and then
left again on the access road. Go about ½ mile until you get to a
gate with two horses on it. You can’t miss it. Then drive back to
the house. It’s a long way so don’t give up. Hope to see you all
there.
At the Board Meeting we had Carol Carriker from Golf San Antonio
discussing a partnership with SAWGA. We accepted a three year plan
that will allow Golf San Antonio to do the City Tournament and Match
Play. SAWGA will be involved. PJ and Mary Lucas will be our
representatives.
The Fall Tournament will be Oct 3&4 with a rain date Oct 5. The
Fall Tournament will be $15.00.
August 28 is Last Monday at Sonterra. Please bring cash or check
only. Golf is $35.00 and prizes is $5.00.
The Christmas Banquet will be December 11 with details to follow.
Our next board meeting will be October 16 at 9AM at the home of Mary
Lucas. We will be discussing the budget so I hope everyone on the board
will make an effort to be there with this much advanced notice.
I hope everyone will get out and bring friends to SAWGA. We
would really like to increase the membership. We are hoping for an
exciting year.
