Our Texas Military Ladies Golf Classic (TMLGC) is scheduled for September 17 & 18, 2008, at the Quail Creek Country Club in San Marcos, Texas. Our goal this year is to have 100+ participants. We hope you will join us in attaining that goal.

You may play a practice round on September 16, your option, and the price is $18.15 and includes cart. Please call the Pro Shop at 512-252-1665 for a tee time and mention that you want a tee time for a practice round for the TMLGC.

Registration will be set up on the front porch of the Pro Shop on Tuesday, September 16 beginning at l:30 pm until 4:00 pm. You may also register on Wednesday morning at 7:00 am until 8:00 am. We will shotgun start on Wednesday morning at 8:30 am. Range balls will be available for you on the driving range at 7:00 am. Please be at your carts no later than 8:15 am Wednesday morning for welcoming, announcements and questions.

After play on Wednesday, we will have a short business meeting in the restaurant. Our evening social will begin at 5:30 pm for beverages and dinner served at 6:30 pm. (However, see the note about our hospitality room offer below. If we meet the room goal and get the hospitality room, we may rather bring our drinks and meet there.)

Thursday’s play times are the same and our lunch will be served just after play that day.

Hotel arrangements have been made with the Comfort Suites, 104 IH 35 North, in San Marcos. Phone number is 512-392-1006. The hotel is holding 20 suites for us at a rate of $86.25 (no limit to the number of guests in a suite) and includes tax and a hot breakfast each morning. Fifteen of these suites have two queen beds and five suites have a king bed. All suites are non-smoking. If we reserve 20 suites, we will be given (at no cost) a hospitality suite so that we can gather for socializing and bring our own drinks and snacks in to visit and tell ‘war’ stories. (Don’t you all want to be a fly on that wall?) All reservations MUST be made no later than August 10 for this rate. When you call, tell the reservation clerk you are with the TMLGC so that you will be given this rate. From IH-35 South exit 204A and take the turnaround and the hotel will be on your right. From IH-35 North take exit 204 and the hotel will be on your right.
This year we are selling hole sponsors for $100.00 and $50.00. For the hundred dollar sponsorship, a professionally printed sign will be prominently displayed on a tee box during the two-day tournament and the sponsor’s name will be listed in our program. For the $50.00 sponsorship, the sponsor’s name will be listed in our program. If any of you as players want to sponsor a hole, please feel free to do so. We already have sponsorships for ‘in memory of’ and ‘in honor of’ a specific person(s). Some ladies have mentioned that they might pool their money and have their name on a sign as supporters of the tournament.

AND, if you know of any company, corporation, etc., that you think might want to be a sponsor, please ask them; let us know and we will give you the thank-you letter we are using; you sign the letter and give it to the sponsor. We plan to make pictures with each sign to give each sponsor. This money will go back into the tournament for prizes, expenses, etc. Several very nice items have been donated for us to give away. There will be some type of drawing for these items.

Your application for the tournament is enclosed and we ask that you return it with your check no later than September 4, 2008. Your canceled check will be your receipt as checks will be deposited each week.

We hope to see you in September and please share your application with anyone you know that is eligible to play in the tournament. Let’s make our goal of 100+ and YOU CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN!!

Mary Kerr, Sandy Hogan, Rona Wilson, Deby Meeks
