I encourage you to share your ideas with any of these women. Please call me with any new ideas to improve our organization. We will be having our first Board meeting soon, so your input would be welcomed.

We plan to introduce this year, a "First Friday", replacing the Last Monday. We will play 'every' Monday and add the "First Friday", so we pick up an extra play day during the month. Susan Powell and Penny Nyman will take on this responsibility under Special Tournament. We hope more members will be able to work this play day into their schedules. As you may recall, we use to play on Fridays, but it was getting too expensive so we moved regular play to Mondays. By adding only one Friday to our schedule, we hope to recapture some of the players who liked Fridays. We think that one Friday should not be too cost prohibitive. Soon you can sign up to play 'on-line' via our website.

We will have our Tee Off Tournament, again, this year in mid-August so watch for news from Louise Day, who along with Karen Ryan, will chair our Social Tournaments. This event kicks off our fiscal year so we hope you will again support SAWGA with your membership. The fee remains at $35, which is a bargain when you consider the discounted fees that our chairs negotiate on your behalf to play the courses around the city. JoAnn Miller will be happy to collect your entry fees whenever you want to start sending them to her.

I also want to thank, sincerely, Nancy White for all the hard and dedicated work she has volunteered to SAWGA. Nancy resigned as Treasurer and chairs for Social and Special Tournaments. It took five ladies to replace Nancy, who has decided to go back to school. She has promised to continue playing golf with us, so we will look for her. And, we welcome Sue Marmion, as Treasurer. Sue will be able to step right in, since Nancy kept such detailed records.

Before I close I want to thank Jeanne Parsley, for her wonderful leadership the past two years. She continues to give more than she expects back. She is a wonderful example for all of us.

Well, that's all for now. I'll keep you posted as we have our meetings and have new and wonderful 'things' to share. Take care and see you "you know where".

Syd Muenster
President 2010-2011
