SAWGA GENERAL MEETING MINUTES
MAY 11, 2009

President Jeanne Parsley called the meeting to order.

Board Members present were: Jeanne Parsley, Peggy Baker, Nancy White, Irene White, Bay Ponsiego, Karen Antis, Gayle Fisk, Cindy Tuerk, Terry Lambert, Linda Stahl, and Susan Powell. Absent were : Mary Lucas and Carol Buss.

A motion was made by Bay Ponseigo and seconded by Peggy Baker that we accept the minutes as posted on the website. The motion passed.

Peggy Baker gave her report as 1st VP. Gayle Fisk gave the membership report.

Nancy White gave the treasurer’s report and indicated that there is no raise in dues for the 2009-2010 year. She also said the Fall Kick-Off Membership Tournament is scheduled for August 24th at Sonterra Country Club.

P. J. Wright encouraged every member to bring a friend to the Last Monday and other play days. We would like to increase participation. She also gave the Rules report.

Cindy Tuerk reported the summer play schedule has been posted on the website.
Members get points for playing and for winning and receive gift certificates based on their total points at the end of the summer. Summer play will be an 8:00 a.m. shotgun. Winners from the regular play were given gift certificates from Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Bay Ponseigo presented the Ringer Board winners with gift certificates.

Linda Stahl gave the handicap report. All handicaps will reflect the GHIN system revisions.

Terry Lambert is the new communications chairman. He is working on an informational brochure for SAWGA and would welcome any input. This brochure can be given to prospective new members and they will have a good overview of our organization. Syd Muenster and Wendy Molnar volunteered to help in this effort.  He is also moving forward to provide online play day registration at www.sawga.org.

The home course for next year will be Canyon Springs as determined by the electorate. Discussion followed this announcement about home courses and tee times. Home course is played once a month and other city and public courses are mixed into the schedule.

The membership also approved the slate of officers for 2009-2010 as presented on the e-ballot. They are as follows:

The next Board Meeting will be on July 13th following play.
