SAWGA GENERAL MEETING

MAY 19, 2008

 The meeting was brought to order by President Karen Antis at 2:25 after a fun day of golf and a nice lunch at the Pecan Valley Country Club.  First Vice President Jeannie Parsley said that we have 144 and we need to keep working to maintain those numbers.

The minutes were read by Ginger McGee.  They were accepted, after which the Treasurers report was submitted.

 Cindy Turek spoke about summer play.  The first play day will be at the Republic on June 2nd at 8:00a.m.

 Mary Lucas spoke briefly about rules.  She said that if you go on line you could check out rules and play games at USGA.ORG.

 Susan Powell mentioned that you could check out pictures of events on line.

 P.J. Wright talked about Last Monday and the City Amateur Tournament.  She tried to get more ladies to sign up.  The deadline is May 30th.  You can register on line.  Next year the Last Monday will be incorporated into the regular play schedule.

 Bay Poinsego presented the winners in the ringer.

 Grace Walker talked about the SAWGA website and introduced Terry Lambert, the www.sawga.org Webmaster, and thanked him for all his hard work.

 Peggy Baker presented the slate of officers for 2008-2009.  President; Jeannie Parsley, 1st Vice President; Peggy Baker, 2nd Vice President; Gayle Fisk, Secretary; Irene White, and Treasurer; Nancy White.

There were no nominations from the floor.  The slate was voted on and accepted.

 Nancy White presented the yearly awards and then Jeannie introduced the ladies who were just there for lunch.

 Out going board members Ginger McGee and P.J. Wright were acknowledged.

 It was announced that the next board meeting for old and new board members will be at Willow Springs on June 16th.

 Grace Walker then presented the winners for the day’s tournament.  A good time was had by all.
