My gosh!  We are already nearing the end of summer play.  Just three more weeks of play and then our Kick-Off Tournament as well as the Tee-Off Coffee.  The Tournament is Monday, August 25, at Tapatio Springs, and, of course, we always look forward to the Tee-Off Coffee held at Barbie Winn’s home.  This year the Coffee is being held on the Friday before the tournament . The Coffee is August 22.  The tournament is the following Monday.  These two events give us an ideal way to start off our golfing year and catch up on all that has happened over the summer.

We’ve seen some ebb and flow of our membership:  Dot Dunkle is leaving us permanently in a move back to California.  Nancy Joseph has high-tailed it to Colorado for some weeks of reading, golfing, and just plain relaxing in a much cooler climate.  She’ll be back with us mid-September.  We’ll miss Derb Westhoven for awhile.  She’s recovering from cancer surgery, but she’ll be back with us as soon as possible. 

Speaking of the Kick-Off Tournament, did you realize our Kick-Off Tournament Chair, Nancy White, has taken up juggling?  Oh yes, those balls in the air might be more aptly called duties that she is volunteering to manage.  As our Treasurer, she has had to lead us toward a budget that we can maintain for the coming year.  The Kick-Off Tournament a new event for this year, is the brain-child of Nancy.  She is in for an active year, and we appreciate the enthusiasm which she brings to our Board.

As a last note, do try to get your membership renewed as soon as possible.  Of course you can renew at the Coffee, but why not do it now?  Gayle Fisk, our Directory and Membership Chair is always willing to take your check at anytime.
