72nd ANNUAL CITY WOMEN’S AMATEUR GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

ELIGIBILITY

Any woman 18 years of age or older who has resided in the San Antonio area for at least 60 days prior to the tournament date with a maximum handicap index of 34.8.  Women other than SAWGA members must enclose an established, attested May USGA Handicap Index with entry OR you may provide your GHIN number. If handicap cannot be verified, participant will be paired as a zero (0) handicap.

 TYPE OF PLAY  

54 Hole Individual Stroke Play by USGA Rules. First day pairings by handicap index, second/third day pairings by day one/two gross score with final flights to be determined after day two total gross score dividing flights evenly and allowing for the same scores to remain within the same flight.

 ENTRY FEE AND FORM

Entry fee of $59.00 must be paid by check payable to SAWGA and must accompany the entry form.  ALL ENTRY FORMS AND FEES MUST BE IN THE HANDS OF THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR BY 8:00 PM, MAY 27, 2006.  Fees will not be refunded after the entry deadline. Late entries will be admitted on a space available basis only.  100% of the entry fees are used for this tournament.

 REPORTING FOR STARTING TIMES

All players must check in at the registration table on the back patio in front of the score board 20 minutes prior to their tee-time.  Failure to do so will result in disqualification. 

CONCESSIONS

Concessions are available before, during and after play. Please, NO outside food or beverages.

CARTS

Electric carts are permitted.  Riders will be paired to allow cart sharing when possible.  However, if pairings require a player to ride alone, they will only be charged for half a cart.  If participants choose to ride alone, they will be charged for a full cart.

CADDIES

A player may have only one caddie at any one time:

Distance Measuring Devices will be permitted during play.

PRIZES

Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd low gross in each flight.  Additional prizes will be given if the number of players warrants.  The City Championship Trophy will be awarded to the Low Gross over the Field for the three days.  Senior Medallist - Award will be given to the woman, age 50 or older, with the low gross total three-day score.  Team Trophy - The San Antonio Women’s Golf Association awards a perpetual trophy to the club that has the lowest combined net scores of four of its members scored on the first day of play.  The name of the winning club is engraved on the trophy, which remains with the winners for one year.  A plaque is given to the club winning this event three consecutive years.

Starting times begin at 8:00 AM. They should be published in the daily newspaper, will be available from Brackenridge Golf Course, by contacting PJ at Pejota@gvtc.com and on the web at www.sawga.org
