72nd ANNUAL CITY WOMEN’S AMATEUR GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

Entry Fee: $55.00 (Includes 3 Green Fees) Entry Deadline: May 27, 2005- 6:00 PM

ELIGIBILITY

Any woman 18 years of age or older who has resided in the San Antonio area for at least 60 days prior to the tournament date.  Women other than SAWGA members must send an established, attested May USGA Handicap Index with entry. Maximum handicap index is 34.8.  If handicap cannot be verified, participant will play with a zero (0) handicap.

 TYPE OF PLAY 

Individual Stroke Play by USGA Rules. First day pairings by Handicap Index. Second day by Gross Score.  Flights will be determined after Two day Total Gross Score.

 ENTRY FEE AND FORM

Entry fee is $55.00.  Fee must be paid by check payable to SAWGA.  Entry fee check must accompany the entry form.  ALL ENTRY FORMS AND FEES MUST BE IN THE HANDS OF THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR BY 6:00 PM, MAY 27, 2005.  Entries will not be accepted nor fees be refunded after the entry deadline.  All entry fees will be used solely for this tournament.

 REPORTING FOR TEE-TIMES

All players must check in at the registration table 20 minutes prior to their tee-time.  Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

 CONCESSIONS

Concessions are available before, during and after play. Please, NO outside food, beverages or coolers.

 CARTS

Electric carts are permitted.  Riders will be paired to allow cart sharing when possible.  However, if pairings require a player to ride alone, they will only be charged for half a cart.  If participants choose to ride alone, they will be charged for a full cart.

 CADDIES

A player may have only one caddie at any one time: Caddies may not wear shoes with spikes.

 PRIZES

Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd low gross in each flight.  Additional prizes will be given if the number of players warrants.  The City Championship Trophy will be awarded to the Low Gross over the Field for the three days.    Senior Medallist-Award will be given to the woman, age 50 or older, with the low gross total three-day score.  Team Trophy-The San Antonio Women’s Golf Association awards a perpetual trophy to the club that has the lowest combined net scores of four of its members scored on the first day of play.  The name of the winning club is engraved on the trophy, which remains with the winners for one year.  A plaque is given to the club winning this event three consecutive years.

Pairings and tee-times starting at 8:30 am. They should be published in the daily newspaper, will be available from Olmos Golf Course or by contacting PJ at Pejota@gvtc.com and on the web at www.sawga.org
